Information We Collect

When you create an account we collect your name and email address. When you hold a spot in a line we collect your device's location. If you apply to become a host we collect the photographs you submit for identity verification. If you use a sale's messaging we store the messages you send. If you enable notifications we store a push token for your device. We do not collect payment information, because iaminline does not process payments.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to run the service: to place you in a line and tell you your position, to confirm you are at the sale, to let hosts and attendees message each other about a sale, to notify you about your spot and about sales you have asked to hear about, and to verify the identity of people applying to host. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Location Data

Sales can designate an area you need to stay inside to keep your spot, the same way a physical line works. To enforce that fairly, your device reports its location to our servers, which decide whether you are inside the area — the app never makes that call itself. If you grant background location access, this continues while the app is closed or your phone is locked, so you do not have to keep the app open on screen while you wait. Collection starts only when you are holding a spot and stops as soon as that spot ends, whether you leave, lose it, or the sale finishes. Background access is optional: without it the app still works and checks your location while it is open. We use your location only to determine whether you are inside a sale's area. We do not build a history of your movements, and we do not sell or share it.

Identity Verification for Hosts

People applying to host a sale are asked for a photograph of themselves and of a government-issued ID. We use these only to confirm the applicant is who they say they are before letting them run a sale. They are visible to iaminline administrators reviewing the application, and are never shown to attendees or other hosts. You can ask us to delete them once your application has been decided.

Messages and Photos

Messages between a host and an attendee are stored so both sides can read the conversation, and are visible to iaminline administrators for safety and support. Photographs a host attaches to a sale listing are public to anyone who can see that sale. Do not put anything in a message or a sale photo that you would not want the other party, or our administrators, to read.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Hosts see the name and queue position of attendees in their line. We use service providers to operate the app — hosting and database, email delivery, push notification delivery, and maps — and they handle data only to provide those services to us.

Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text, and access to your data is enforced at the database level so one account cannot read another's.

Your Rights

You can delete your account from within the app at any time, under Account settings. You may also request access to, or correction of, your personal data by contacting privacy@iaminline.com. You can turn individual notification categories on or off in your notification settings, and marketing email requires you to opt in before we send any.

Children

iaminline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
